Our Story

Who are we?

Established in 2019 just before that pesky global pandemic, Eleven Eleven is a growing family-owned company run by Oliver and Verity who both live in West Sussex in the UK - along with a very affectionate dog.

What do we do?

We love laser engraving all of your ideas, family memories and special occasions onto our products, and we will also do our best to source products not in our range for you! Whether for a wedding, a family keepsake, a pet memorial, for your company brand merchandise, or employee gift. We treat our customers as individuals in order to make each product personal to you.

We really like taking a pet portrait, your family photo, your childrens first sketch or even a special handwritten message and being able to engrave it for you, creating a wonderfully personalised gift.

What materials do you use?

We source high quality products made from all sorts of materials, most often renewable bamboo and wood, high quality slate, real genuine leather, plus laser-safe acrylic and rubber to create all manner of awesome gifts.

Do you make to order?

If you have a special requirement, whether for a personal gift or for corporate branding, why not get in touch via e-mail or our contact form. The list of products we have made is very large, so please ask us, if it's in our repertoire, we'll make it!

Like what? Do you have examples?

We've engraved stylish wooden hangars for a London brand attending Paris fashion week; engraved a handwritten message on a pizza board from young children to their father on Fathers day; engraved genuine leather wallets and hip flasks for weddings; memorialised a treasured pet dog on slate; added a portrait to a leather guitar strap; and produced rubber stamps for use by both crafters and small business owners.

Is there anything you don't do?

There are some materials we don't engrave or cut as they can be toxic. For example this is why we engrave onto genuine leather as faux-leather can be significantly more toxic.

Currently we don't have the equipment to engrave jewellery or precious metals. Although we can mark certain metals, notably stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium, which is worth noting.

What does Eleven Eleven mean?

Great question, thanks for asking! Our name Eleven Eleven derives from our belief in the 'Laws of Attraction' and 11:11 throughout history and mythology is a lucky, positive number associated with happy coincidences and making a wish!

Maybe you're a romantic who believes in the law of attraction and positivity or maybe someone who considers 11:11 a fun bit of whimsical wish-making!

In numerology 11:11 is a master number that signifies intuition, insight, and enlightenment. Seeing 11:11 is a good sign, that means your actions and purpose are aligned!

On social media, younger Snapchat users may even use 11:11 as verb for reaching out to a love interest:

'Ooh, you should totally 11:11 him and see if he’s interested.'

Or to send someone they are crushing on a snap displaying the time 11:11 as if to say:

'You’re the one I’m wishing for.'

People also use 11:11 on social media to indicate they are making a wish, whether it be of seeing more cat pictures (!) wishing to stumble across a close friend again, or to wish to pass their exams!

In 2000, the emo band Something Corporate released the song 'Konstantine' about staying up and thinking about a girl. It includes the line:

'I always catch the clock, it’s 11:11.'

This inspired the '11:11 AM Charity', which supported Andrew McMahon (pianist and vocalist in the band) during his battle with leukemia in 2005 before going on to support children with cancer.

So 11:11 has positive associations for romantics and numerologists, as well as a place in youth culture, and also as a message of hope. If you see 11:11 you're on the right path.
